Sinfield documentary to launch on Superleague+
3 May 2024
SuperLeague+ has linked up with RAM Films and Kevin Sinfield CBE to offer all account-holders the chance to watch the documentary of the Leeds legend’s latest fund-raising challenge in support of Rob Burrow CBE – and raise money for the MND Association.
The documentary was premiered in Leeds last night, and will be available to purchase on SuperLeague+ from Monday, for £9.99 – with £6 from every purchase going to the MNDA.
You won’t need a SuperLeague+ subscription to watch the documentary, just an account – which is completely free to set up.
The documentary is an intimate record of the 7 in 7 in 7 Challenge that Sinfield took on in December 2023 – running an Ultra-Marathon in seven different cities on seven consecutive days, travelling from Headingley to Buckingham Palace via Cardiff, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dublin and Brighton.
It was the fourth year Sinfield has put himself through the pain barrier in support of his former Rhinos team-mate and the MND community – and again, the challenge has already raised a seven-figure sum, taking the total contribution from Sinfield’s challenges past £8m – and counting.
RAM Films, a Leeds-based company who produced the award-nominated coverage of Sinfield’s Extra Mile challenge in 2021, followed every day of the latest challenge.
The latest film, narrated by Sinfield, combines exclusive behind-the-scenes access through the challenge with footage of Kevin and Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE learning more about the work being done at Sheffield’s Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), led by Director of Research Development Dr Brian Dickie MBE, and Professor Dame Pamela Shaw.
Jimmy Bray, RAM Films’ Head of Production, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to offer our production of Kevin’s latest challenge via SuperLeague+. The challenge for us personally year on year is how to maximise awareness and more importantly raise funds to help as much as we can in the battle against MND. By offering viewers the pay-per-view option we get the opportunity to give viewers an in-depth look behind the scenes at what it takes to complete a challenge like this whilst boosting Kevin’s fund raising total and we’re extremely proud to be able to do so.”
All money raised from the ‘Ultra 7 in 7 in 7’ challenge will support the fight against MND, with proceeds split between Kevin’s chosen charities which support people affected by MND and invest in research towards finding effective treatments and a cure for the disease.
